The first day back to school after the COVID-19 lockdown was both exciting and emotional. I woke up early, eager to wear my uniform and meet my friends after months of online learning. As I walked into the school gates, I was greeted by my classmates and teachers, all wearing masks and maintaining social distance.

The first thing I did was rush to my best friend, and we talked about everything we had missed during the lockdown. The classrooms looked different, with fewer desks and hand sanitizers everywhere.

I felt a mix of happiness and nervousness. It was wonderful to see everyone in person, but the new safety rules reminded me that things had changed. What made the day special was the warm welcome from our teachers and the joy of reconnecting with friends face-to-face.

It was a day I will always remember as a step toward normalcy after a challenging time.
