Report on Percentage of Study Fields for American University Students by Gender (2013-2014)

The bar chart illustrates the percentage of male and female students in four fields of study—Business, Medicine, Science, and Arts—at American universities during the academic year 2013-2014.

Business was the most popular field for both genders, with males and females participating almost equally at approximately 60%. This field showed the highest level of gender balance compared to the other areas.

In Medicine, female students dominated, with around 50%, while male students accounted for slightly less at approximately 40%. This suggests a stronger preference among females for healthcare-related studies.

Science, however, saw higher male participation, with about 40% compared to females, who made up only 30%. This highlights a gender gap in science-related fields, with males showing greater interest.

Lastly, Arts attracted the smallest percentages for both genders, though female students slightly outnumbered males, with approximately 20% compared to 10%.

In summary, Business was equally favored by both genders, while Medicine saw more female interest, and Science attracted more males. Arts had the lowest overall participation, showing a slight preference from females. This data reflects gender preferences in academic fields during the given period.
